Preparation
- Vehicle safety: Make sure the vehicle is secured in Park (P), completely deactivated (ignition/system off), and that the ventilation/air conditioning is switched off.
- Protection & hygiene: Place a mat or cloth under the work area to catch falling dirt. Safety glasses and a respirator protect you from falling dust and pollen. Ideally, keep a vacuum cleaner ready to vacuum out the housing before installation.
- Lighting: As the installation location is usually dark, we recommend using a headlamp or flashlight for the best possible visibility.
- Tools: No tools are required for the replacement.
- Access: The filter is located in the engine compartment on the passenger side, in front of the Windscreen. Fully open your vehicle's front hood to ensure clear access.
Step-by-step guide
-
Open front hood & locate housing
Open your vehicle's front hood. The filter housing is at the very back of the engine compartment on the passenger side, directly in front of the Windscreen. -
Open filter housing cover
Gently press the retaining tabs on the sides of the horizontal housing cover together or upward to unlock and remove the cover. -
Remove old filter
Pull the old cabin air filter upward out of the compartment. Make sure that no leaves or dirt particles fall into the exposed ventilation duct. -
Insert new filter
Carefully slide the new cabin air filter into the compartment, ensuring a precise fit.↔ Airflow: The arrows on the side of the filter must point downward (toward the vehicle floor)!
💡 Pro tip: Briefly vacuum up coarse dirt and leaves from the upper edge of the housing before inserting the new filter!
-
Close housing & lock front hood
Put the housing cover back on and press it firmly until the retaining tabs audibly and noticeably snap into place. Then close the front hood.
